Together they are responsible for the overall wellbeing, practical as well as spiritual, of their church, the church members, and the church buildings. The PCC also has a duty to promote the mission of the church within the wider community.

Would you be interested in developing your singing talent and join St Mary’s Church Choir?

We have re-introduced young voices to our Choir that sings each Sunday at the 9.30 service. We would like to invite you to come along to practice every Thursday at 5.45pm.

Our Church Choir Master and Organist Mr Vincent Wade is a music teacher at Buckswood School and is keen to encourage young choristers to take RSCM ( Royal School of Church Music) Awards and medals as part of their development .

He will be supported in this by Vikki Cook who will act as chaperone, wardrobe mistress and help guide the young people through the words of the service.

Adult choir members enjoy social occasions as well as an annual trip to Chichester to take part in a Choral evensong at the Cathedral with choirs from other churches. This will be extended to the younger members.

If you would like more information please use our Contact Us form or please pop along any Thursday at 5.45pm and meet us.

Saturday 1st March at 6:30 p.m. in the Benedicta Whistler Centre.

Come and pit your wits in a family friendly quiz night, with a pancake supper. Bring your own drinks and snacks, pancakes and toppings will be provided. £3 per head, teams of maximum 6. All money raised will go towards our Church funds. Please sign the list in the church porch to help us cater for the correct number of people.

On Saturday, January 4th,  21 members of our Pastoral Fellowship gathered together in the Benedicta Whistler Centre for a 'Twelfth Night Tea'.

On what was a dull and wet day, it was lovely to see so many happy faces, chatting and laughing together, whilst enjoying a tea of delectable goodies. Following Christmas, everyone was still in festive mood and had good appetites. The beautiful table arrangements and crackers added to the festive look of the room.

To round off the afternoon, we gathered in the Lady Chapel to end the Festive Season with a final rendition of favourite carols. Even after the hearty appetites shown earlier, everyone was in good voice.

All were given 'doggy bags' on their way home in case they felt peckish a little later on!

We are very grateful to all those who gave their time to assist with this event by providing transport, helping with the catering or hostessing, thus giving all who came a lovely start to the New Year.
