Christmas Tree Festial 2017

We are once again hosting and running another Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary's over the weekend 25th & 26th November 2017. This is something the whole community in Battle can take part in and enjoy. Proceeds from the event will be given to local Charities or good causes and will be announced shortly.

We will be once again inviting local groups and organisations to display a tree and also want to encourage individuals and families to enter a tree as well. Last year we had 34 different displays and hope to match this once again. As this is the year of the Bible we decided to have the Bible as our Theme. Vikki has kindly put together a list of ideas to help you and if you would like a copy please let me know.

The tree can be a branch, Christmas tree or artificial tree and can have battery operated lights. The staging for the tree will be supplied by the Church. Public voting is back by popular demand and the good news is that not only will voting be over the Festival weekend but also in the following week when we hope to open the Church. The winning trees will be announced at the Advent Carol Service the following weekend on Sunday 3rd December followed by mince pies and mulled wine.

If you would like to take part or can help in any way your support will be greatly appreciated as we really do need your help to stage this event. This could be in a number of ways like, stewarding the Church after the event, making cakes, helping with washing up and refreshments, helping on one of the stalls on the Saturday, selling programmes, welcoming families to the Church or donating goods for the stalls.
